George the Milkman

George the Milkman

Kellogg's Graham Crackos
"Somethin' new is comin' to town. George the Milkman's bringin' it 'round". From 1978 until about 1981, George the Milkman (portrayed by Herb Vigran) asks folks if they'd "like the taste of a little graham crackers and milk" for breakfast. Graham Crackos is a "ready-sweetened crunchy graham cereal". It was originally in the shape of a squared-off figure 8. By 1980, it was enlarged and looked more like a three-fingered brass knuckle.

Here's more on George, from a cereal side panel: "George the Milkman has loved the taste of graham crackers and milk since he was a child, so George was really excited when he first tasted Kellogg's Graham Crackos. He discovered crunchy graham crackers and milk taste together in every bite --- like 'graham crackers made for milk.' That's why George brings around Graham Crackos to all the folks on his milk route --- so they can share in that terrific graham cracker taste he loves so much."
