Topher's Winnie-the-Pooh Mysteries
"The Case of the Missing Tail"

Based upon the characters and stories by A. A. Milne

Rabbit
Winnie-the-Pooh walked along the riverbank, carefully following the river through the Woods, until he came upon Rabbit's house. It was about 11:00 am and he was feeling hungry. "What good fortune it is that I am at Rabbit's house," he thought to himself. He poked his head into Rabbit's hole. "Hallo, Rabbit. Is anybody home?"

"Nobody!" came the reply.

"Are you sure there isn't anybody at home?" asked Pooh.

"I'm sure," replied the voice again.

Pooh pulled his head out of the hole and thought to himself. "Somebody must be home, or they couldn't have said 'nobody'." He poked his head back into the hole. "Is that you Rabbit?"

"No. It's not..." Pooh welcomed himself into Rabbit's house. "Oh, it's you Pooh," said Rabbit. "I can never be too careful about things like that. What can I do for you Pooh?"

"Eeyore has lost his tail. Have you seen it?" asked Pooh.

"No," said Rabbit, "I haven't".

"Oh," said Pooh. "In that case would you like to invite me to lunch?"

"Not really," Rabbit said quietly. "Pooh, would you like to stay for lunch?"

"Yes, I would, Rabbit. Thank you so much for asking." Pooh sat down and helped himself to a small pot of hunny. "By the way, Rabbit, that's an interesting new tie you have there," said Pooh.

"Oh, this old thing?" said Rabbit. "I've had this old tie for years. Just found it again when I was going through my garden shed."

"Rabbit, do you know where I might find Eeyore's tail?"

"You might check the area around Poohsticks Bridge or talk to Piglet."

"Thank you Rabbit. I'll be going now," said Pooh.
